Good Labs approached me to create a brand film that would communicate who they are, the work they support, and the impact their organisation is having through the Ololo Foundation and Global Health Organisation.
The video was designed to become a hero video for the Good Labs website, while also giving the organisation a compelling piece of content they could share with potential donors to help explain their mission and encourage new supporters to get involved.
With approximately 3TB of existing footage captured by camera teams in Kenya, the project began with a large library of documentary and observational material rather than a predetermined story. I reviewed and worked through the footage to identify the strongest moments, themes and visual sequences, then developed the narrative around them.
To give the film a clear voice and structure, I also developed the interview questions for Good Labs founder Broden Johnson and filmed his interview myself. The interview was designed specifically to provide the context and storytelling needed to connect the extensive Kenya footage into one cohesive brand story.
From there, I handled the complete creative post-production process, crafting the narrative, editing the footage, integrating the interview, colour grading, sound design and final finishing to create a polished film that represented the Good Labs brand and its mission.
The final edit was also intentionally framed slightly taller than a traditional 16:9 video. This provides greater screen real estate when viewed on social media and modern digital displays, while maintaining a cinematic and professional presentation.
